TENSILE – STRENGTH – STRETCH – TEA – STIFFNESS

Purpose of the test

This test is performed to determine the tensile strength, strain at break, tensile energy  absorption, TEA, and tensile stiffness of paper.

Procedure

Operate the instrument in accordance with ISO 1924-3 and the manufacturer’s instructions.

Leave the samples exposed for 24 h to 23°C and 50% R.H., according to ISO 187.

From each test piece cut one test strip 15,0±0,1 mm width. The test span must be 100±1  mm.

Report 10 measures, Tensile Strength in kN/m, Strain at break in %, Tensile Energy Absorption in J/m2 and Tensile stiffness in kN/m, their mean and standard deviation calculated to 3 significant figures.
